Royal Rumble (1998) was the eleventh annual Royal Rumble. It was presented by MCI's 1-800-COLLECT, and took place on January 18, 1998 at the San Jose Arena in San Jose, California. The main event was a casket match between Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker for the WWF Championship. The main matches on the undercard were the Royal Rumble match, The Legion Of Doom (Hawk and Animal) versus The New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg and Billy Gunn) for the WWF Tag Team Championship, and The Rock versus Ken Shamrock for the WWF Intercontinental Championship.
Survivor Series (1998) was the twelfth annual Survivor Series. It was presented by Nestlé Crunch and took place on November 15, 1998 at the Kiel Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Fourteen matches were scheduled on the event's card, a noticeably higher number than most pay-per-view events because the main focus of the card was a tournament for the vacant WWF Championship titled Deadly Game. It was the first tournament held with the WWF Championship on the line in ten years, the last being at WrestleMania IV. Aside from the tournament, two other championship matches occurred: the first defense of the WWF Women's Championship since it had been reactivated and a triple threat tag team match for the WWF Tag Team Championship. This event was also the first Survivor Series not to feature the traditional Survivor Series elimination-style tag team match.
Fall Brawl 1998: War Games took place on September 13, 1998 from the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The main event a Singles match for the WWF Championship between Steve Austin and The Undertaker. The main match on the undercard featured a ladder match for the WWF Intercontinental Championship between Triple H and The Rock. Other matches include a hair vs hair match between X-Pac and Jeff Jarrett and a Lion's Den match between Ken Shamrock and Owen Hart.

Slamboree 1998 took place on May 17, 1998 from The Centrum in Worcester, Massachusetts and featured a double main event. The first was Randy Savage versus Bret Hart with Roddy Piper as the guest referee while the second was The Outsiders defending the WCW World Tag Team Championships against Sting & The Giant. A stunt match had Eric Bischoff challenging Vince McMahon to a match and holding it even though Vince had never acknowledged or accepted the challenge. Goldberg defended the WCW United States Championship against Saturn, Ultimo Dragon wrestled Eddie Guerrero, Diamond Dallas Page faced Raven in a Bowery Death match, Chris Jericho defended the WCW Cruiserweight Championship against Dean Malenko, Fit Finlay defended the WCW World Television Championship against Chris Benoit, Brian Adams fought Lex Luger, and a Cruiserweight Battle Royal was held with 15 contestants for a shot at the Cruiserweight belt.
Starrcade (1998) was the sixteenth annual Starrcade professional wrestling PPV event and took place on December 27, 1998 from the MCI Center in Washington, D.C. The main event was a No Disqualification match between Goldberg and Kevin Nash for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Their feud began when Nash won a battle royal at World War 3, and earned a title match while Goldberg had an undefeated streak of 173 matches heading into Starrcade. To the question what the best days of their lives was, nobody can or wants to give an answer. Nearly everyone immediately starts about the day-to-day worries and problems in the home. Finally, one woman tells about her activities as head of the research department of the government of Ceausescu, with whom she once had an argument. Another resident recalls his time as a soldier in World War II and proceeds to the order of the day.

The show had previously gone under several other names, including Festival of British Popular Songs, Eurovision Song Contest British Final, Great British Song Contest, Eurovision: Making Your Mind Up and Eurovision: Your Decision but was known for most of its history as A Song for Europe. The most recent name and format was adopted in 2009, but since 2011, the UK representation has been selected internally, resulting in Your Country Needs You being suspended.
